One of my favorite subjects to photograph. Despite their speed and needing to use a very fast shutter speed to capture them, this was only shot at 1/320 of a second. I love getting images where their wings seemingly disappear. I haven't had much success recently with hummingbirds so this is a sign hopefully of more opportunities.
I love, LOVE hummingbirds. There is something so precious and fetching about the way they move and interact with obstacles. "Attraction"... I think that is the perfect word for what a hummingbird might feel about a flower ^-^ you have to think if he is enraptured in a wonder similar to ours at the magnificence of his flower ^-^
1/320 of a second?!??!?! Hummingbirds are the hardest thing to capture in your lens. I Almost go a picture of one but he was too damn fast! Good job. what a beautiful bird.
Thanks! When they are positioned in one spot just kinda hovering it's easy to capture their body at slightly slower shutter speeds but their wings will almost always be blurred.
