The awe inspiring delicate arch clings to the edge of a cliff while storms pass over the la sal mountains in the background. The clouds allowed for frequent bursts of sunlight. I had waited here for hours to get a shot as tourist after tourist walked down to get their photos taken beneath the arch. It was like nothing I have seen before. An older German gentleman was yelling at every person who walked into his shot. Patience is the name of the game, and I managed a few frames people free from the crazy circus like atmosphere I witnessed. I will definitely have to come back in the fall or winter.
Wonderful shot. Got there early in the Fall one year and was the first on the scene. But the light wasn't anything special. I got some uninspired compositions and collected heaps of discarded cigarette butts from the ground returning to the trailhead.
Thank you! I'd love to have this place all to myself. It was a zoo when I was there. I noticed at the start of the trail where the "ponds" are were quite dirty and loaded with trash. I wish some people thought twice.
