When your strolling along on the trail and then come upon a scene such as this you stop dead in your tracks. The magnitude and scale cannot be appreciated in a web image. Having these conditions to shoot just put the icing on the cake and it was something I will never forget. Standing here looking at the mountain unveiling itself from the fog only to be covered again within minutes, I felt extremely fortunate to capture this moment on camera as well as take it in for myself. Scenes like this are why I travel to see these grand landscapes and they don't happen very often. It's amazing that we were at one point in the fog at the bottom, drove above it and found ourselves amongst the clouds. It was absolutely heaven. To give some sense of scale, I'm going to guess that the waterfalls to the left on the grassy slopes are a few hundred feet high. Simply the most beautiful scene I've ever come across.

Mount Rainier national park- Washington.

Thank you! This sure was one of those magical mornings and fortunately I was able to be there myself and take it in.
