After a week of heavy winds and not so great weather for the most part to photograph (gray skies or no clouds), this last stop at the grand canyon gave me the shot I was hoping for. All week I had been looking for those soft clouds for the sun to break through and illuminate. It wasn't until this evening I got what I wanted. The scene itself could not have been any better. After the light dipped below the horizon, that beautiful twilight glow in the clouds emerged and covered the canyon in soft subtle hues of pinks and reds. The array of colors shown here was mind blowing. I almost missed the shot just because I was so concentrated on taking in the moment. This was by far the highlight shot of the trip. It is also one of triumph as this is the only chance I have had thus far successfully photographing a canyon sunset. Just a little bit of clouds can take one of the most difficult subjects to photograph and make it somewhat unique in a sense.
This is beautiful! Would you mind if I used this on a role-playing site that I'm creating? All I'm doing is cropping and adding text, and you will of course be credited.
Sure thing, I'll send you the link when I'm finished with it. It might take a while though; it's a lot more work that I'd first anticipated, doing it on my own this time around.
Breathtaking scenery ..Which period of the year was this? Arizona must be wonderful..I cant' wait to go there next month..my first time to the USA, you have no idea of how excited I am !
