Flowing to the sun

During my trip to the eastern sierras, there was all but one morning where I was completely alone, not another human within miles. The only sounds were the flowing water, and slight breezes through the trees. This wasn't the image I had in mind, but after being unsuccessful trying to find my ideal comp, I decided to roam the creek side. I knew the sun was just rising to the east, and could see the bright glow in the trees. I found a nice spot that showed a sweeping bend in the creek and found just the right angle to partially block the sun and get a sunstar. The composition was near perfect. Had I gone in the fall, I would have the luxury of golden aspens and their fallen leaves flowing downstream creating a much more colorful scene. For now though, the image for me speaks of solitude. The rising sun and flowing water and soft light all made for one of my favorite images. Though a simple common subject for most, I'm not close to scenes like this, and was very happy to spend some time amid a location that wasn't crowded and much more lesser known that many of the areas out there.
