One of the most amazing places I have been. Grand prismatic spring is the largest hots spring in North America and the 3rd largest in the world. It's temperatures can reach up to 180+ degrees at the hottest areas of the spring. It was like walking on another planet with the amazing array of colors and walking through the thermal fog and mist's. This image was created using 9 images all hand held. I wish we could have hiked to the top of that mounting in the back to get an overlook at the whole thing. Can't wait to go back and grab that shot.

This was shot facing away from the boardwalk. You can actually see a few people if you look very closely on top of the mountain. There were still a ton of people walking around

I guess it's all about timing. Although I went right at the beginning of summer it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be.

yeh, i used to go as soon as the snow would melt which would mean half the park was a nogo because of the bears and then i'd go in the late fall when the crowds would die down. went once in the summer and hated it.

I think if you go in the summer go right in the beginning. We were there for a week and when we arrived it wasn't crowded, but once we left there were 10 times as many people.
