Don't let the title fool you, it was pretty cold and windy up on the rim, which was the theme all week at night. This is one view of the canyon that has instantly become my favorite vantage point. You get a lot in one scene. The canyon walls, the river, the spires in the canyon, not to mention on a good night, light like this. This is however zoomed into the canyon. To the right, on the rim, is the desert view watch tower which seemingly blends into the landscape (not visible in this image). I had to get my shot there, but it was overcrowded with people. I decided to walk a ways away and found a perfect rock to set up my tripod and sit my butt down on. It was the best seat in the house apparently. This was only taken five minutes before my shot "echoes" in the opposite direction. The light show this evening was just remarkable. I still have a few frames from the rim to share, but like always I will try to take my time. Comments and thoughts appreciated!
Thanks! It does, theres a dramatic difference in morning and evening light. Evening light lasts longer so its a bit easier to pull a good shot with color since you have the time.
