Pirate ship sunset by PeterJCoskun Pirate ship sunset by PeterJCoskun
Alone watching one of the most incredible sunsets I've seen in years. This place became an instant favorite the moment I laid eyes on the tufa formations. I've seen so many images from here I knew I had to add it to my list of travels. I could spend weeks here photographing all there is around the lake and want to return for another few weeks. All within two days, I took some of my favorite images to date. I have heard that a sierra sunset is something to see once in your life, and I was lucky enough to get one within hours of my trip. This image was taken just a few yards from :thumb305033607: and shows a more traditional composition. My favorite part about this image, is that there is an active osprey nest on the tufa formation in the back and I was lucky enough to view them interacting with one another. Just wish I could have gotten a great shot of them over the tufas.

Mono lake, California.

That's so spectacular that can't be on Earth. So, where are you live exactly? On which planet? :P

You certainly were in the best company possible to appreciate the moment (better to be alone, than to be in bad company). I can feel the awe and solitude from the image, it feels like my heart just skipped a beat. It's hard to realise at times that there is such beauty out there, and that you can really see it if you go out of your way to get there. I think that this might be my favourite photo of yours...

Thank you I appreciate it! It was quite nice to watch this sunset basically on my own. These types of experiences are the ones that are remembered long after the moment has passed.
