Description

This is one of the views you can see coming up the trail or going down the trail to trout lake in Yellowstone. We went to this lake because we had heard that otters were present and were being quite active. However to our dismay they never appeared for us. A fellow hiker had also noted that there was a large black bear in the area which we never came across (which was a good thing). On the way back down I saw this palette of colors of the grasses and mountains off in the distance. If I am not mistaken the mountain to the left is part of the Absaroka range in Montana. It was one of those views that just captivated me. A small family came up to us and said they wanted to share this view with us. One of the most spectacular I have seen anywhere...And yes the colors are real. I actually blended two exposures together to bring out both the sky and the greens.

These shots are awesome...and yet to me it seems that no camera can capture the vastness...or the way your heart wishes to burst out of your chest when you see this excessive beauty...the sawtooth wilderness makes me feel the same way...tho I haven't ventured in yet, I look at it from the tops of the Trinity Mountains here and can't come up with words...
