Yellowstone eveningby ~PeterJCoskun

I shot this image on the hike back to our vehicle from trout lake in Yellowstone. We spent a good hour or so photographing from this view and waited for the light to fade to see if anything interesting would happen. Sure enough the sky turned a nice light pink and illuminated the mountains in the back. The mountains were actually slightly washed out in the original, but a simple curves adjustment helped me salvage this. It was, in my opinion, one of the most colorful sunsets I have seen. The sun was to the left of the scene and just dipped below the opposite side of the lake causing a twilight type atmosphere, however it was still light out by 10pm this was shot around 8pm. You just had to be there to see it.
